Safety and Health: What Does it Mean to Me?
8 & 9 April 2013
Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre
Western Australia’s reputation as a hub for resources investment throughout the world will be showcased at the annual CME Safety and Health Conference, which also champions workplace safety and health initiatives through presentations, workshops and the annual Safety & Health Innovation Awards.
The mission for CME for 2013 and beyond, is to position the annual CME Health and Safety Conference as Australia’s pre-eminent multi-faceted national conference on Workplace Health and Safety in the resources sector.
CME has adopted a fresh new look in its imagery for the conference. This sets the tone of the conference for the next three years and will aid in taking the CME Conference to another level both in terms of attendance and in format and presentations.
A specific overarching theme will be developed for each conference that will be informed by the latest developments in the sector, and workplace health and safety more generally, ensuring the conference has relevance from ‘boardroom to the mine site floor’. The theme of the 2013 conference - Safety and Health: What Does it Mean to Me? – is therefore of particular relevance as it has a personal focus for all delegates at all levels of the industry.
Conference workshops will be made up of ‘streams’ which link back to the original theme. The topics are to be relevant to CME’s Industry Vision, which aims to ensure ‘everyone in the industry understands and is trained to manage the inherent risks and hazards’. For the 2013 conference, the workshop streams are – Health, Technical, and Roles & Accountability.
