Women in Resources Awards 2012- Nominations

The Women in Resources Awards recognise individuals and organisations working to build a world-class industry which provides attractive career opportunities and enhances the recognition and participation of women in the sector.
The awards encompass all aspects of the resources sector. Interested individuals and organisations are encouraged to apply online before the closing date of Monday 7 November 2011. Winners of the 2012 Women in Resources Awards will be announced at a breakfast presentation ceremony on 8 March 2012, International Women’s Day.
This year there are five categories in the Women in Resources Awards:
Women in Resources Champion
This category recognises an individual, male or female, who has encouraged, promoted and advocated for the attraction, selection, promotion or retention of women within the resources sector.
Outstanding Professional Woman
This category recognises an outstanding woman’s contribution to the WA resources sector, her company and/or community and has significantly brought about positive change in the WA resources sector
Outstanding Young Professional Woman if aged 34 years or under as at 31 December 2011
This category recognises an outstanding young woman’s contribution to the WA resources sector and/or community and has shown significant promise or reached new goals in their career to date in the resources sector.
Outstanding Operator/Technician/Trade Woman
This category recognises an outstanding woman’s contribution to the WA resources sector, her company and/or community and has broken new ground for women in the resources sector.
Outstanding Company Initiative
This category recognises a company that has implemented an initiative, policy or practice which demonstrates successful attraction, selection, promotion or retention of women within the resources sector.
